27.04.2021 - Argentinian buys Google’s domain name for £2
An Argentinian bought Google's domain for 270 pesos (around 2 pounds). Nicolas Kuroña, a resident of Buenos Aires got informed by his friends that the google services in Argentina were down. Immediately after receiving this information, he rushed to his PC and bought Google's domain for Argentina. He got to keep it for a few hours before Google retrieved its domain. I wanted to write about this because it's funny how a company worth $420 Billion got "robbed" of its internet domain and funnily enough it shouldn't have been up for sale on the market as Google's license wasn't due to expire until July.
