Thomas Jefferson - the third president of the USA

Thomas Jefferson influenced the US a lot. Not only he had written the Decleration of Independence in 1776 but also helped shape the America's Constitution by formal letters to his friend James Madison, from France - as the American ambassador to France. He then became the third president of the USA during the election of 1800' (after the first results were published Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson were tied - Jefferson won only because of Alexander Hamilton's endorsment).      He fought with racism - for the freedom of people. He stabilized the USA's economy and doubled the size of America by brokering the Louisiana purchase. After he retired to Monticello he proceeded to continue his grand project - the University of Virginia. He died on July 4th 1826.
