My observation: 2

Today while on the bus I saw two people, they were a couple. At first they seemed like average people that you see in your everyday life, but further into my ride back home one of them started acting weird and yelling - he had a mental disorder which prevented him from speaking and thinking correctly. The girl on the other side was physically disabled or had problems with walking at the very least. Despite the aggression that came from the man she kept her cool and was able to calm him down.

I don't know why but it was shocking to me that despite their imperfections and disabilities they were able to find love and stick toghether. I then realised that I was so ignorant that I forgot that even people like that deserve love. I think that this impulsive way of thinking came into my mind because of the 'perfectionism' that we are vulnerable to in our everyday life. Thinking that we deserve everything that's completely flawless, even in regards to love interests. People focus more and more on the idea of being with someone with perfect appearance and traits rather than the left alone feeling of acceptance.

  1. Disability is indeed scary for able-bodied people and mental disability even more so. We tend to think that disability effectively excludes someone from most everyday activities we engage in, like going out, dating, having fun.
