Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King is one of the greatest people of America. He fought for freedom of African-American people. He made a great impact on equality between races and became the youngest person in the world to obtain the Noble Peace Prize. Martin Luther King was born on January 15, 1929 to a religious family. In 1953 he became a pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. As a strong defender of rights of his race he became a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and in 1955 started a nonviolent demonstration for equality of his race. His first achievement for his race, was getting equal rights to ride buses as whites. At the age of thirty-five he received the Noble Peace Prize and during his speach he announced that all the prize money will be donated to push forward the black people equality movement. Abraham Lincoln

     Abraham Lincoln as one of the most influential people in America's history. He was the 16th president of the USA, serving from 1861 until his assassination in 1865. He led the US through the American Civil war, helped reserve the union between the states, abolished slavery and modernized the economy.     Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 in Hodgenville, Kentucky. When he was 9 his mom died at age of 34 of milk sickness. He had two siblings (an older sister and a younger brother) who died in their infancy.      In 1961 he became the president and led the Northern States to vitory during the Civil War. After winning the war he abolished slavery after realising its cruel and inhumane.    On 15th April  1865 he was assassinated druing a show in Ford Theater, Washington DC.
